I like everything about this project. Website design included.
I finally realize why I prefer not to shoot fashion. I’m only interested if I’M the one wearing the clothes.
I fantasize daily about owning entire collections of labels such as Gorman & Fat, and of course every gorgeous vintage piece of clothing or home furnishing I can get my hands on.
Case and point the image below, shot by the talented Michelle Jarni (http://michellejarni.com/). I’m on the left.
Two totally different feels, messages, styles. Both beautiful.
I’m starting to feel a bit of a sculptural itch. Rachel Feery (http://myneptune.blogspot.com/ ) and I were camping this past weekend and constructed this:
Since then I’ve had an itch to do some more physical art.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall
Tell ‘em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small
When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving slow
Go ask Alice
I think she’ll know
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s “off her head!”
Remember what the dormouse said;
“Keep your head”
“Keep your heaaaaddd”
amazing.

Some drafting for my potential new blog:
“Who am I?
For some, an easy question to answer. For others, like myself – 20, a diploma still in it’s postal tube, and a blank canvas stretching endlessly ahead of me – something incredibly difficult to answer.
Here you will find a collection of creative people – some established in themselves, others a complete work in progress – who have given their time to share a little about their lives.“
FORMAT/CONTENT:
Short introductory video in spirit of James Freemantle’s 2 seconds ‘making an impression’ workshop – interviewee answering the question “who are you?” (example answer “I’m Daniel Mahon, a freelance photographer and new father” etc), a sample of their work/what they do, some still photography if appropriate (eg. of the cards James gave me – advertising as added incentive to interviewees to participate, plus opportunity to show off own photographic skills) and some paraphrasing + quotes from interview with emphasis on their story, and their input for direction to others, plus links to their own websites, blogs, etc. Or listings of their books, films, etc etc. Contact details if they so wish.
CAMPAIGN:
Create complete mock-up of blog in photoshop – headers, background, ‘about’ page featuring self + photography etc, and a sample interview. Maybe email as pdf, plus phone contact to all potential interviewees. Practice/start with friends who are establishing their practice/professionals already in relationship with to get rhythm and style down for future interviews with new people.
